Eggland's Best Receives Top Retailer Award

Aug 07, 2009 By: Eggland's Best
NEW YORK, August 4, 2009 – Eggland’s Best (EB) has again been singled out by retailers nationwide in the annual Refrigerated & Frozen Foods (R&FF) Retailer Magazine Category Colonel Awards.  With the 2009 Award, Eggland’s Best maintained its first-place position in the egg category, having received the Category Colonel Award every year since its inception.  The winners will be featured in the September 2009 issue of R&FF Retailer Magazine.

“It is a privilege to receive the Category Colonel Award for the third consecutive year,” said Charlie Lanktree, President and Chief Executive Officer of Eggland’s Best. “Our retail customers are very important to us.  To again be recognized by them for our taste and nutrition, solid pricing and value-added promotions is an honor.”   The Colonel Award complements EB’s 140+ months of double-digit sales growth and numerous awards that the Brand has received over the past 5 years.

A brand’s selection as a Category Colonel is based on voting by thousands of retailers across the country and is recognition that the winner represents the best trading partner in the category.  In the balloting, retailers are asked to vote for the manufacturer in each category that ranks highest and most consistent in the following areas: 1) delivering product on-time, accurately and in the quantities promised; 2) providing the most valuable retail promotions and pricing; and 3) maintaining the highest level of communication that results in mutually beneficial solutions.

In addition to the Eggland’s Best brand, EB is the leading producer of Private Brands for retailers nationally.  The Category Colonel Award confirms Eggland’s Best Inc. longstanding commitment to Better Taste, Better Nutrition, and Better Eggs for its consumers, and the most productive relationships with its retailers.
