Eggland’s Best Announces “America’s Best Recipe” Contest

Consumers Can Submit Original Recipes Showcasing Eggland’s Best Eggs and State-Inspired Ingredients For The Chance To Win $10,000

Cedar Knolls, N.J., February 9, 2016 –Eggland’s Best (EB), the nation’s #1 selling egg, is looking for the best original egg recipe with the launch of their 2016 “America’s Best Recipe” Contest.   For the first time ever, Eggland’s Best is inviting EB-enthusiasts to submit recipes featuring EB eggs combined with their favorite state-inspired ingredients.

Whether your Eggs Benedict gets a boost from Louisiana Crawfish or a perfect Georgia Peach makes your Peach Custard Pie even better, you have until April 29 to submit your original recipes on the EB website (www.egglandsbest.com/americasbestrecipe).  With four meal categories to choose from, and countless local fruits, meats and vegetables across the country – the opportunities are endless!

“It’s no secret that Eggland’s Best eggs are loved throughout our great nation due to our superior freshness, nutrition, and taste,” says Charlie Lanktree, President and CEO of Eggland’s Best. “We are excited to see how unique, local ingredients and culinary traditions can elevate our great product in delicious recipes.”

Recipes will be judged based on taste, creativity, and the inspiration behind the local recipe ingredients. After state winners are selected, Eggland’s Best will call on all Americans to help narrow down the “Best in State” recipes to five “Best in Region” winners.

The “Best in Region” recipes will be revealed on the Eggland’s Best website where EB fans will have the chance to vote for America’s Best Recipe! The Grand Prize winner will be awarded $10,000 and a year’s supply of Eggland’s Best eggs, and “Best in Region” winners will receive $1,000 each.   State winners will also receive prizes from Eggland’s Best.

Compared to ordinary eggs, Eggland’s Best eggs contain 25 percent less saturated fat, four times more vitamin D, more than double the Omega-3s, ten times more vitamin E, and three times more vitamin B12.  This is due to EB’s proprietary all-vegetarian hen feed that contains healthy grains, canola oil, and a wholesome supplement of rice bran, alfalfa, sea kelp and Vitamin E.

“When Eggland’s Best announced their last recipe contest, I could not have been more thrilled,” says Lidia Haddadian, winner of the 2014 Eggland’s Best Recipe Contest. “I use EB eggs in all my recipes since an EB egg turns a good recipe into a great one.  I encourage all Eggland’s Best fans to turn on their creativity and enter this contest!”
