Digital marketers attended the awards ceremony on May 16 at the Gansevoort Park Hotel in New York City. The Best Viral Campaign award went to Eggland’s Best eggs, one of the four finalists with Disney, Sony Electronics and Wrigley’s in the Viral Marketing category.

Consumers could download a free copy of The Best of Fine Cooking: Breakfast, 88 Delicious Recipes for Everyone’s Favorite Anytime Meal, valued at $9.99, courtesy of Eggland’s Best eggs. In order to receive the free download, consumers were asked to “like” the brand on Facebook, and also had the option to provide an e-mail address for future engagement.
Integrated throughout the book was information about Eggland’s Best eggs’ superior quality, nutrition and taste. To promote the campaign, Eggland’s Best offered bloggers an exclusive opportunity to download the book before promoting it on their other digital platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, website and e-newsletter. In addition, finecooking.com promoted the offer through on-site banner ads.
