Double Chocolate Donuts
These double chocolate baked donuts are an easy-to-make sweet treat perfect for the whole family! This recipe calls for far less sugar than regular donuts and are baked instead of fried. These donuts are topped with a homemade chocolate glaze that will satisfy any chocolate craving.

Ingredients
Donuts:
3/4 c. of Flour
1/3 c. of Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
2 Tbsp. of Sugar
2 Tbsp. of Brown Sugar
1 tsp. of Baking Powder
a pinch of Salt
1/2 tsp of Baking Soda
1/2 c. of Lite Buttermilk (or make your own by adding 1/2 tsp. of vinegar in a glass measuring cup, then filling it up to 1/2cup)
1/4 c. of Unsweetened Applesauce
Frosting:
2 Tbsp. mini chocolate chips
1 tsp. Coconut oil
Preparation
- Mix together flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda and set aside.
- In another bowl mix Eggland's Best eggs, buttermilk, and apple sauce.
- Mix the bowl of dry ingredients with the wet ingredients.
- Take your donut tin, and spray with cooking oil.
- Distribute the batter evenly into 9 donuts.
- Bake in the oven at 350° for about 12 mins.
To Make Frosting:
- Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil on a plate (this will make frosting easier!).
- Mix thoroughly.
- Dip baked donuts in the chocolate.
