These sugar coated pecans are super easy to make and only require a few ingredients! The coating is made extra crunchy by using whipped egg whites.

Ingredients

1/2 lb raw shelled pecans

3 Tbsp. 100% Eggland’s Best Egg Whites

1 tsp water

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup white sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

Pinch of nutmeg (optional)

1/2 tsp salt

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 250° F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl mix together your sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a larger bowl pour in your egg whites, water, and vanilla extract. Whisk until light and fluffy with no liquid remaining.
  4. Add in your pecans to the egg white mixture, and fold gently with a spatula to cover all the pecans.
  5. Sprinkle in the sugar mixture, folding it in as you go.
  6. Once you’ve used up all the sugar mixture and all your pecans are covered, spread the pecans onto the baking dish. Bake at 250° for one hour. Stir and separate nuts immediately after taking it out of the oven.
  7. Cool fully and store in an airtight container.
