Animal Masks

Use your imagination to create an animal mask using Eggland’s Best carton. You can use your creativity to make up an imaginary animal or pick one from the wild that inspires you. Children can then enjoy their masks for hours of open-ended play.

Recommended Age Group: Pre-K & up (with adult supervision)

This activity focuses on imagination, innovation, creativity, and fine motor skills


SUPPLIES:

  • Eggland's Best Egg Carton (empty)
  • Knife or Scissors
  • Glue or glue gun
  • Markers
  • Non-toxic washable paint or acrylic paint
  • Adhesive gems
  • Feathers
  • Pipe cleaners

STEP 1:

Cut the top off your Eggland's Best egg carton, and then cut the egg compartments into 6 pieces, keeping two egg compartments attached.

STEP 2:

Using a knife or scissors, cut circles to make eyes and on the side of the egg holder, cut two slits to hold a craft stick as pictured.

STEP 3:

Paint or color your mask and let dry.

STEP 4:

Once dry, using a toothpick poke holes wherever you would like feathers or pipe cleaners to go.

STEP 5:

Using a glue gun or other glue, attach any addition decorations such as rhinestones, glitter, sequins etc. Let dry.
