Bacon Quiche
A savory, golden quiche loaded with crispy bacon, caramelized onions, and melty cheddar cheese, all wrapped in a flaky pie crust. Perfect for brunch, breakfast, or a comforting dinner.
Ingredients
1 store-bought pie crust
4 strips bacon
1 medium onion, diced
1 cup whole milk
4 Eggland’s Best eggs, large
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tsp salt
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp chopped fresh parsley
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish. Prick the bottom with a fork and bake for 10 minutes. Remove and let cool slightly.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp. Remove and drain on paper towels, then crumble into small pieces.
- In the same skillet, cook the diced onion in the rendered bacon fat for 5–7 minutes, until softened and lightly browned.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and parsley until smooth.
- Layer the shredded cheddar, crumbled bacon, and cooked onions evenly in the pre-baked pie crust. Pour the egg mixture over the filling.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45–50 minutes, until the quiche is golden brown and the center is set. A knife inserted in the middle should come out clean.
- Let the quiche cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
