5 Tips for Youthful Healthy Skin

With all of the “fountain of youth” products on the market, it can be confusing to figure out the most effective way to care for your skin. However, you can nourish and transform your skin from the inside out by following a few simple tips and consuming foods that are high in skin-benefitting nutrients.

We'll have you glowing in no time!

1. Eat Fat

Fight aging with fat. Yes, you heard that right! Consuming Omega-3 fatty acids help to keep the skin moisturized and provides your oil glands with the nutrients it needs. One of the easiest and most delicious ways to include Omega-3s in your diet is to consume Eggland’s Best eggs, which contain more than double the Omega-3s compared to ordinary eggs. 2. Don’t Skip Face Washing

After an evening out the last thing you may feel like doing is washing your face, but this is a big no-no even if done occasionally. Every day your face accumulates bacteria, oil, dirt, and pollutants, as well as any makeup products, so it’s important to gently wash your face to keep it looking radiant and glowing. By sticking to a cleansing routine your skin will also be hydrated, fine lines will not be as prominent, and skin will look more youthful and refreshed. Next time you feel like skipping a wash at night, remind yourself of the benefits!

3. Eat Water-Filled Foods

Staying hydrated is essential to maintaining supple skin and feeling your best from the inside out. Drinking eight glasses of water can feel daunting, but did you know you could also consume water from certain foods? If you struggle with drinking enough water, try incorporating foods with a high water content into your daily diet, and you will reap the added benefit of the nutrients from these foods. Add foods such as watermelon, cantaloupe, tomatoes, cucumbers, grapefruit, strawberries, celery and bell peppers. Try out our Summer Rolls recipe for a hydrating snack or meal.

4. Catch Your Zzz’s

They don’t call it beauty sleep for nothing! It is well known that sleep benefits health in numerous ways, and this is especially true when it comes to keeping skin in tip-top shape. By getting sufficient sleep, your body stimulates cell production keeping it thicker and less prone to aging. Lack of sleep can cause inflammation and also result in higher cortisol, which breaks down collagen and causes breakouts and dryer skin. Say hello to glowing, smooth skin (and feeling refreshed!) with at least 7-8 hours of sleep.

5. Use Sun Protection

This may be an obvious skin tip, but it is something that can be easily forgotten. Including sunscreen in your daily skincare routine is proven to reduce photoaging in the skin, such as wrinkles, fine lines, sunspots, and hyperpigmentation. Before you step out the door, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30, and don’t forget to apply to your neck and tops of your hands where aging is also visible. By getting into the routine of proper sun protection you will preserve your skin and protect yourself from skin cancer.
